How to read this tier list
The tiers run from SS (god tier) down to NEG (avoid), and within each tier the mutations are sorted by value multiplier. SS holds the two jackpot rolls β Secret at 50x and Void at 35x. S tier is the elite band: Hologram (15x), Chrome and Timeless (12x), Gem (10x) and Diamond (8x). A tier covers the strong-but-common rolls from Gold (4x) through the 6x weather and Corrupted mutations. B and C tiers are the filler multipliers you sell quickly, and NEG contains the lone negative β Dirty at 0.8x. Use the filter chips to show only the mutations you can actually get right now: random rolls or weather-gated.
Why we rank by multiplier, not rarity
Plenty of tier lists rank by how rare a mutation is to find. We rank by value multiplier because that is the number that decides your payout. Rarity tells you how often you will see a roll; the multiplier tells you what it is worth when you do. A common Gold (4x) on a $10,000 item ($40,000) beats a rare Gem (10x) on a $500 item ($5,000) β so the multiplier, weighed against the itemβs base value, is the signal that matters. Tap any card to carry that mutation straight into the value calculator and price your exact item.
Which mutations to chase
If you are farming for value, chase the SS and S tiers β a single Secret, Void, Hologram or Diamond can outvalue a whole session of clean hauls. If you are chasing them through weather, note that Firefly (5x) spikes during Moonlit events and Wet and Shocked (6x) spike during Rain, so time your container openings to the sky. Everything at A tier and below is a sell-on-sight roll unless it lands on a genuinely high-base item. For the full drop mechanics behind each mutation, read the mutations guide, and to time your progression toward the $100k Time Capsule use the profit route planner.
Weather-gated versus random tiers
Two mutations in the A tier β Firefly (5x) and the pair of Wet and Shocked (6x) β are effectively weather exclusives, along with Moonlit (1.5x) down in C tier. That changes how you should read their placement. A random-roll A-tier mutation like Gold can show up any time, but Firefly realistically only lands in bulk during Moonlit events, and Wet and Shocked during Rain. So while they share a tier with random rolls of similar value, their real availability is throttled by the sky. If you are hunting a specific weather mutation, the tier list tells you what it is worth; the mutations guide tells you when to farm it. Rain and Moonlit also gate four separate exclusive items that never appear outside those windows β none of them are on this tier list because they are not mutations.
Time Capsule and the top of the list
It is worth killing a myth here, because we published it ourselves until 2026-07-14 and most guides still do: the Time Capsule (unlocked at $100,000) does not let you choose a mutation. You put an item in, pay Gems, and it rolls one β chance-based, with rarer results less likely. There is no way to guarantee a Secret.
That changes what this list is for. It is not a shopping list. Nothing in the game lets you pick the top of it on demand, so the SS tier is something you prepare for rather than purchase: keep your Luck up, open volume, and when a Void or Secret does land, make sure it lands on an item with a high base value β because a 50x on cheap junk is worth less than a 2x on a genuinely expensive find. The trophies and luck guide covers what actually shifts the odds.
How this ranking is built
The multipliers are compiled from community sources β cross-checked between Nerdschalk and allthings.how, which agree item for item β not measured by us in-game. What is ours is the tiering: the multiplier is a fact, but grouping the 23 into SS through NEG is a judgement about how each roll performs on a realistic item, and you are entitled to disagree with it.
Which mutations are weather-gated (Moonlit, Firefly, Wet, Shocked) comes from the same sources. The rankings read from the same data as the value calculator, so the two can never drift apart.
